While our Evolution Analog circuit board provides high resolution and stability, if you want the very best accuracy and reliabilty possible with a sim-racing controller, the Evolution Digital circuit board will provide that. Optical Encoders provide more resolution than potentiometers and do not have the inherent wear factor that a potentiometer does, and thus will last indefinitely.

There is no DIY option available for upgrading your controller to Optical Encoders, the controller must be sent in for factory installation. This is because the upgrade is more involved than our analog options.

There is a $30 charge for return shipping and handling. In addition, if the controller incorporates a clutch, you would need to add the price of an additional encoder (price is listed on the main product page).

NOTE: If you are buying a new controller and wish to have it upgraded to encoders, there is a separate upgrade option for that.

We do not stock a large quantity of the Evolution Digital circuit boards, so the availability of this option is limited. You need to check with us before shipping your controller in to have this upgrade done, as it may be a significant turn-around time if we do not have the boards on hand when your controller arrives.
